Hello

Hello to all my peeps-oh, how I have missed you!!! With the start of a school year and football, there has been such little time for me to write. I have been reading your blogs, but not leaving comments and I apologize.

Many of you have celebrated birthdays, so let me send you belated birthday wishes!!!

For those of you going through some stuff, I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

And thanks to all asking where in the world I was--I would never leave without saying goodbye.

Til next time~flygirl

Mmmm...Vanilla

You Are Vanilla Iced Coffee

You are subtle and modest. You tend to hang back in a crowd and watch what's going on.

You actually have a lot to offer, but you make sure not to boast about it.

You are sweet, loyal, and accepting. You are a true friend to everyone in your life.

You bring out the best in people. You are secure enough to let others shine.

The Official End of Summer

Summer was over for me when I went back to school August 17th. I must admit, I envy those schools who start after Labor Day. It officially felt like the end of summer today as the little guy and I enjoyed our last time at the waterpark for the 2009 season. And oh, how I have missed it.

We are both into the swing of things with school. For someone being in the 2nd grade he sure keeps up with getting his homework done at school. It makes it easy for me to just check it each night and only worry about reading, spelling, and memory verse.

Football is going well too. We haven't won a game yet, however each week I see growth. The little guy got the wind knocked out of him Saturday-poor thing-but you should have seen the hit he made prior to him losing his air. Actually, you only needed to hear it. Hopefully he will be able to get some running time with the ball. He's had a hard time accepting a different position this year and not being in the spotlight. I think it is all good-learning and having fun-I'm definitely in the game.

I've been reading your blogs...not always commenting...but I know what's going on. Stay close~flygirl~

Team Mom

Back in May the little guy decided he wasn't going to play football. It crushed me. He is such the athlete and he did so good when he played last year. But to the little guy, football is a lot of work. Practices begin August 1 and the players practice 10 hours a week. Beginning September 1 it drops down to 6 hours a week. I know football is time consuming and I know it has physical demands, but I just knew that if he didn't sign up that once he found out which of his friends were playing, he would want to play too and it would be too late.

We then found out his baseball coach was going to be one of the coaches. This is a coach that has coached the little guy in a couple of sports through the local Y and city. A coach who wants kids to learn and to have fun while learning. That's when the little guy decided to play, but there was a catch. To guarantee a spot on that coach's team I was going to have to volunteer. So Team Mom, that's me, along with 9 male coaches that I sometimes need to put in their place. It has kept me busy and I have enjoyed every moment. I think the little guy has too.
